1992 Chevrolet Blazer S10 review from North America
"I paid for a S10 Blazer and got a boat. Just a hole with a shell around it to throw money into"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
EGR valve gets stopped up 2 times a year and cost around $300 to clear the carbon.
Very hard to start and smokes when started for the first 10 seconds. Valve seals went bad.
Had to have complete fuel injection replaced. Runs great for 2 days then runs terrible for 2 days. The solution, drive it 2 days then take 2 days off work.
General comments?
The 4 wheel drive has surprised me when 4 lo got me out of deep sand. Got stuck in 4 hi. Pulled a lot of people out of ditches during a major ice storm and never spun a wheel. I think my mechanic owns it because he has it more than I do. I've spent over $2,000 on repairs in the past 2 years and nothing has changed. I've been to several garages and the same thing.
Save yourself some money and buy a V8 ford. The extra fuel is cheaper than the repairs.
