1985 Holden Calais Calias review from Australia and New Zealand
"Unreliable gas guzzler"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket blew within 2 weeks of purchase. Heads gasket blew after another 5 years both time the gasket blew into the valley.
Rebuilt trimatic automatic transmission.
Rebuilt steering rack.
Oil leaks, one after another.
Chewed one year old camshaft, required replacement.
Electronic speedo works intermittently.
General comments?
I would not by another Holden Calais Commodore.
The car has given me nothing but trouble from day one.
I will get another Toyota I think.
