1992 Buick Skylark Grand Sport review from North America
"A good, fast car to have, just get a mechanic to look at it before buying"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The first thing to out on my car was the passenger side CV joint, that was right after I got it. It was so messed up that it messed up the strut, and the strut mount.
The second thing to go bad with my car was the driver's side window. The front would drag when the window goes up, that was about a month after getting the car.
The third thing to go wrong was the alternator, that was at 170,000 miles. It went out on me on the day I decided to skip school for fun.
Immediatley after the Alternator went out, the fan controller went bad and that caused the motor to run hot which made the water pump go bad.
Shorlty after that, the fan went out.
The oil pressure sensor went out.
Around 190,000 miles the rear brakes would begin to lock up and hop when I come to a quick stop.
Just about all of the small important parts have gone out or went bad.
While owning the car for a year, the front pads had to be replaced twice.
The passenger side CV was replaced twice.
And before I got rid of the car the driver's side CV joint began to go bad.
General comments?
If it wasn't for all of the problems I had with the car I would say I liked it.
I could easily get onto the expressway.
I could easily pass slow moving cars on two lane roads.
The car had plenty of power to move with.
It had a nice ride.
The car wasn't a stranger to gas stations.
The car was in a slight accident when a ditch slide into it. If you were to look at the car you would not know this unless told.
