2000 Honda HR-V review from UK and Ireland
"Rust apart, this is an excellent car to own and drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At one year old, approximately 19,000 miles, we noticed that there was rust appearing at the seams on the inside of the doors (three out of four doors). On closer inspection we also found rust appearing on the tail-gate hinges. In the intervening year we have spoken with three different dealers who have all said that this should not happen on a car this age. However, we have not been able to engage Honda UK as yet in any meaningful decision. The current state is that we have a report from a Honda Approved Body shop that they are reluctant to carry out warranty repairs on the car, as they could not guarantee the work under the current Honda terms. At the same time Honda UK are not currently even interested in viewing their car.
General comments?
We believe that this is a one off, but are exasperated at Honda's inability to deal with what we reasonably expect is a rare occurrence for them. I guess that their general quality is so good they don't know what to do when something in their manufacturing process goes wrong.
