1998 BMW M3 Evolution review from UK and Ireland
"Excellent value for a high performance car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Only one single fault - the track rod ends failed after 18 months. Even though this was outside the normal Swiss warranty at that time (1 yr),they were replaced 'at no charge' by BMW, since the fault was most unusual.
General comments?
An excellent car for high speed trips between Geneva and the UK.Impeccable
engine and excellent handling.
A delight to drive, but not perfect. The seats are extremely supportive, but are slightly off set to the steering wheel. The gearbox is not the best from BMW, but rugged. The clutch is excellent, but all the action occurs close to the foot well (same on all 3 M3's I've driven)
Great value for money - it's left hand drive (bought in Switzerland),which I'm convinced is smoother than the equivalent right hand drive versions I've driven)
