2000 BMW Mini Cooper review from UK and Ireland
"A real letdown in quality despite excellent performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Huge number of problems beyond comprehension for a brand new car. These are as follows:
Rear light collected condensation. Was replaced.
Creaking dashboard. All replaced yet still have problems.
Rattling seatbelt column. Yet to be fixed after three complaints.
Creaking A column. Took three trips to the garage to fix.
Both front seats have broken. Driver replaced, passenger to be replaced.
Gearbox failure. Had to be recovered, took over a week to be returned to me.
Seal around the front screen has come off. Replaced. Now this is coming off.
General comments?
Great to drive, stunning looks and nice design. However the quality assurance must have lasted for about a week based on the number of problems and issues I have had with the car in 9000 miles. I find it a real shame that a very good, and fun car has in my opinion been ruined by a lack of testing of the car. A real disappointment.
