1998 Volvo C70 T5 T5 turbo from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The T5 C70 - Cruising Power, Prestige, and Performance

Faults:

Problems? hmmm, Well had three times its died on me. Twice had battery problems, the other was something that was ECU related. Some squeaking of the rear suspension. Everything was quickly fixed, suspension is being upgraded. Nothing really major apart from those.

General Comments:

This car is an unbelievable package. Dolby Digital 9 Speaker surround sound, leather and wood-grain interior, and killer looks. The T5 turbocharged engine also packs a mean punch. I am lucky enough to have been driving this car now for about a month and it is a brilliant hybrid of sports and luxury. The Sound System is absolutely awesome, and the turbo engine really gives you a lot of power all through the range, little to no lag here folks. However my only general grip with the car is it needs individual tuning for each car. Mine will undergo custom ECU tuning and will get new exhaust, new suspension and struts as well as some air intake mods. This will help the car stay running smoother more fuel efficient with more power and quicker acceleration. Apart from that this car is awesome. The looks are simply great and really turns heads. This is the car that changes people's view of Volvo, especially when your kicking the absolutely brilliant stereo. But this car is a definite sports cruiser, it's safe powerful and sweet for cruising, not the genuine sports car, but all in all this car is great value and a pleasure to drive. It has managed to capture my eye every single time I look at it, this car is a great all-round package.

1998 Volvo C70 T5 GT 2.3 T5 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A front wheel drive Ferrari!

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong.

General Comments:

The C70 is unbelievably fast once the slight turbo lag has been overcome. Once it gets to 3000RPM -BOOOM!!! The mid range pace and acceleration are superb - and it does do at least 147 mph!!

The only bad thing is that the steering is too heavy for parking - try Irish roads!! And also the turning circle is a pain.

Otherwise - the styling, the interior, the ENGINE, and everything else rock!

Its navy metallic with beige leather - and you know the wheels!!

I really think that the C70 is great car, but for someone over 6 feet, the headroom seems quite the unfriendly type.

The C70 seats do go up and down, I'm 6'3" and it's fine for me.

Amazing car T5 GT Auto utterly amazing, buy one you cannot go wrong.

You can easily tune it to about 300+ hp, if it is T5.

D5 is not suitable for that car. Newer models (2006 and later) comes with D5 engine new.

I absolutely love this car!!! It's got great looks, comfort... all around excellent car. Haven't had any major problems with it - my brakes are due, possibly change the timing belt... oh and yes the O2 sensors... Love it.

Don't put anyone taller than 6ft on the front seats of this car. Even at 6ft it's uncomfortable for the legs.

1998 Volvo C70 GT 2.5T petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Smooth, suave and sophisticated!

Faults:

Nothing yet - but I've only had it for 1000 miles!

General Comments:

Awesome car! Superb styling, wonderful interior (including high quality soft leather) and outstanding refinement from the punchy engine. Also with the Dolby Pro-Logic option, it has got to have the best standard fit sound system on any car. Car is very practical with enough space for 4 adults and a large boot. Benz-like build quality. Rides smoothly and handles reasonably, although not as obviously adept in this regard like a good smaller car (eg. my previous Alfa 156). Transmission is very smooth and clutch is quite light for a car with such a big engine. If you can get one at a sensible price, this car is highly recommended - it's the best car I've ever owned!
