1986 Nissan Skyline GX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Brilliant"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The driver's side lock only works properly if you lock the door with the key.
The speedo runs fast by about 5-10km/hr.
Heater not working.
General comments?
I picked this car up (priced at $2800) only a few days ago and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. Of course I have been thrashing it around since I got it... hopefully I will settle down and start driving it sensibly soon :)
As has been stated before, the engine is brilliant. My old car was a Toyota Crown which went from 0-100 in about 5 minutes.
The car is very comfortable, especially at high speeds. Economy wise the car seems to be quite good, though I haven't measured its exact consumption.
I prefer this car over a Commodore as it has comparable performace, but doesn't shout out "steal me" when unattended.
I hear that my speedo would be difficult/impossible to fix, since it is electronic. Can anyone confirm this?
A mate of mine has a VK Commodore (3.3L) with the infamous black engine. From what I hear this engine is far (far) superiour. But then his is 3.3L to my 3.0L. So I think it will be an interesting matchup at the lights.
