2001 Dodge Van 1500 jConversion review from North America
"A flat out lemon!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At just under 25,000 miles, the engine oil pump malfunctioned due to engine oil sludge. The engine must be replaced at a cost of $7500.
The front end needed allignment at 4000 miles and again at 9000 miles.
The ride in the van was actually very smooth and comfortable. The only problem that concerned me greatly was deterioration of the seat belts.
General comments?
Personally, I will never own a Daimler Chrysler product again. The service department and Customer "no" service department all the way to Detroit has treated me as if I were a criminal. They blamed me for sludging the engine, and were generally rude and overbearing.
I have owned GM products for the last 20 years, and routinely achieved 150,000 to 200,000 miles and traded in the vehicles still in working condition.
