1997 Holden Statesman VS2 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Brilliant car, top luxury, bargain price!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with this car in the 4 months since we bought it. We did decide to have the Transmission fully serviced as future insurance & also fitted new Toyo 235, 16" tyres which has markedly improved ride & handling. The leather interior is perfect & it would be hard to find a luxury vehicle in this class for anywhere near the $17.5K we paid for it. The car also came with a 3 year Mechanical Warranty at no extra cost from Andrew Miedecke Port Macquarie.
General comments?
The car performs & handles perfectly with all the luxury & creature comforts you could ever want.
The Supercharger gives smooth, effortless performance & fuel economy is brilliant on the highway (9.5liters /100km with cruise control set at 110 Km/Hr. Economy in town is not as good - around 14liters /100km, but this is still great for a big luxury car weighing nearly 2 tons).
If you are thinking of buying the 5liter V8 please try the Supercharged V6 first - we weren't disappointed & soon changed our minds about the V8 being the way to go.
Cabin room & comfort are second to none - a champagne car at a "beer" price!!! Go & get one today!!
