1996 Mitsubishi Colt Mirage review from UK and Ireland
"Vastly underrated sporty coupe"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The windscreen wipers failed on a couple of occasions. The nylon bush holding the drive rod to the pulley wears, and falls off. I fixed it by drilling a hole through the whole arrangement and putting a thin bolt through it. It's never let me down again.
The driver's electric window stuck down, but was fixed by merely refitting the drive cable over the pulley. Still going strong today.
General comments?
Excellent drivers car, for it's size and performance. It's fun to drive EVERY day, and I've had it for over four years now. It's unbelievably reliable and has never let me down. It has never been serviced (shame!) and I've only ever put fuel and oil in it when required... and it STILL starts first time, every time and runs as sweet as a nut. Testament to Mitsubishi's reliability. My other car is a Shogun which is also unfeasibly reliable.. touch wood!
