1986 Opel Kadett GLS review from Romania
"A good bargain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well, I had to change a few parts: exhaust, electric wires, timming and alternator belts...
I intend to go again to the service and replace the front shock absorters.
I use Mobil 1, semisyntectic oil, 10 W 40. The previos owner used Esso 15 W 40. If someone knows which one is better please tell me.
General comments?
It's a nice car. This is my first car and I bought it because I wanted a german car (I was locking for a Golf 2, Kadett or BMW 316, 85-90). Well, I choose the Kadett. Instead of its age and mileage, it is still running well. Never let me down, and I'm using it daily in Bucharest. I can't race it (only 75 hp) but outside the town, it is going well at 120 km/h. I am waiting to see how long the motor will running, because I want to replace it.
Now, I will repaint it because it has a few point of rust. I look forward to see the new look.
