1992 GMC Safari awd/ext review from North America
"Very Reliable, Strong Runner"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Tranny at 140,000 and O2 sensor. But otherwise regular maintenance and she'll run forever.
General comments?
Van is great!!! Good runner. Goes thru snow easily. Decent power. Previous maintenance has been non existant so it really needed a tune up and its fluids changed. The trans lost reverse but it is easily to get rebuilt only paid 500$ for the rebuild. These trannys are very common for gm and parts are cheap. Same with the engine parts are everywhere and very cheap compare to the dodges or the fords. Whatever you do DO NOT buy a Chrysler!!! The trans on my friends 95 caravan froze up on him and it was over 1000$ for a used trans that lasted 2 months. I have also had another safari and it went for 290,000 only on its second trans. Had to give it up do to the rust belt I live in. THanks!!!
