1989 Suzuki Swift GTi review from North America
"One of the all-time great pocket rockets"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car was purchased with 112 thousand miles and had been neglected. It needed CV joints, brakes, tires and an exhaust system. The engine and drive train were extremely sound otherwise.
General comments?
This little car packs more pure driving enjoyment into its 1870 pound package than any car I've owned. Its four wheel disc brakes, firm suspension and lively engine beg to be used. This is one of the truly great, UNRECOGNIZED driver's cars. Why Suzuki no longer offers the GTi package is a mystery to me.
