1992 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado review from North America
"Best investment in a truck I have ever made"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced Starter at 75,000 miles.
Replaced alternator at 95,000 miles.
Replaced fuel filter at 75,000 miles.
Replaced Fuel sensor at 100,000 miles.
Replaced water pump & radiator at 110,000 miles.
Replaced muffler at 115,000 miles.
Bad Paint, began flaking and peeling on hood and roof at 60,000, had it repainted at 120,000.
Driver door does not shut well beginning at 120,000 miles. Have to slam shut several times before closing securely.
Leaks minimum amount of oil from rear main seal.
Not strong enough engine to pull large trailer.
General comments?
This is a very reliable truck. I have owned since new.
Used to haul small camper trailer for several years with little effort.
Used to haul many loads of stuff for do-it-yourself home projects.
I paid $17,500 November 92, paid off the loan November '96 and No payments ever since. That makes it very hard to justify buying a new Truck.
