2004 Chevrolet Spark Base review from South Africa
"Despite its Korean origin this is a excellent buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely no problems thus far.
General comments?
Being the cheapest new car currently in South Africa I was at first very reluctant to buy this vehicle. In the end the fact that the car was said to be very economical and an excellent second hand retail value convinced me to give the little car a try.
It has now been four months and 5500 km's later and I am still smiling. This really is a very honest little car that delivers more than expected. Handling at lower speeds are very good, but at increased speeds the body roll becomes more prominent. Fuel usage a has varied between 18 to 23km/l which is absolutely excellent taking into account that the car solely used for city dwelling. So if you are still wondering if you should buy one, go out and buy one, you won't look back. The car at least look new and modern in comparison to the very old shaped Toyota Conquest and VW golf mark 1 ones that are still sold in the South African market at even more expensive prices and offering none or very few of the features found in the Spark LS.
