1988 Suzuki SJ413 JX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Excellent off-roader and round-towner"
General comments?
An excellent off-road vehicle, with good handling on most urban roads, but when you get out onto the open road the handling leaves much to be desired.
The rear seats are not particularly comfortable for longer journeys.
It sometimes struggles to get up the motorway on-ramp and up to 100km/h, as the on-ramps in New Zealand are generally quite steep for a small-engined car.
Anything that does go wrong with the engines can usually be fixed relatively easily, but watch out for any rust, especially above the rear door area.
The rear door requires some skill to close, as you need to lift and close at the same time, due to the weight of the spare wheel.
