1998 Hyundai Elantra Station Wagon review from North America
"A great little runabout, solid and reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Faulty coolant temperature sensor, causing a high idle, finally fixed by the dealer after three attempts.
Faulty spark plug wires, causing a slight misfire, replaced by the dealer.
All work was done under warranty.
General comments?
Build quality as good as any of the Japanese auto makers.
The engine loves to rev and makes good power above 3K.
Cheesy cup holders and uncomfortable seats.
It's been a great little runabout, solid and reliable, but the dealer service in my part of the world leaves much to be desired. I'm only grateful I didn't need them for any major repairs.
