1979 Holden Kingswood HZ review from Australia and New Zealand

Just general things like the:

-new brakes

-new shocks

-interior needs to be replaced

-air filter, oil changes, new leads, points, spark plugs, engine rebuild.

-tyres as well

nothing major at all.

I brought the car for $2000 four years ago and it was a tidy unit. The engine wasn't the original as they changed it to sell it. So I built a 202 by honing it out to a 208, put roller rockers and cams in it, used a hot rod street cam (I think it is a 25/65). I wanted to put in a 525 but I couldn't for two reasons, one I couldnt afford the petrol and two I live and couldnt aford the engine.

It goes really well now as I lowered it by an inch, put wider 16 inch tyres on the back and thinner 16 inch tyres on the front as well as put in stiffer suspension. So it sticks to the road.

I also used dragway rims.

I painted it metallic blue, fixed up some of the body work (added another side mirror to even it up) and put in a custom made 125L drop tank with a duel 3inch pipe exaust system. It cost me a mint because of the pacemaker headers.

I am running a supra turbo box on a nine inch diff.

I tuned a holley carburetor to go on top and was going to put in a custom bonnent scoop, but I didn't want to ruin the beautiful shape and design of it.

I'm about to upgrade the interior with the same tan carpet, leather seats and fix up the boot.

I have just brought a 2500watt amp with two 1000 watt subs for the boot and four 6X9 inch speakers for the rear parcel shelf and front doors.

I kept most of the original interior looking the same as I love the look of it.

It has been the best car ever to me and I haven't had any serious problem with it yet.
