1997 Daihatsu Terios DX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Best car I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Faulty driveshaft seal after 2 years replaced under warranty
that's it!
General comments?
This is without a doubt the best car I've ever owned.
Just covered 100,000 kms over 8 years with only one fault, replaced under warranty many years ago
always starts first time without fault
could do with more space inside, but it's size becomes a major plus in city driving (live in Sydney) + in car parks where you're less likely to get dings as it's narrow
also very good off road due to locking centre diff, low range 1st gear and lightness of vehicle.
Also very well built.
Noisy over 80kms, but fun to take it to the max.
Reminds me of the Cit 2CV I had in the '80s - light, tall with unburstable engine (due to sohc motor)
if you're looking for a car which will be 90% urban use then I highly recommend it.
