1987 Chrysler LeBaron GTS review from North America
"An excellent vehicle if it is lovingly cared for"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Transmission is beginning to slip, but it is the original Transmission and this is a common LeBaron trait.
The Exhaust is also original and should be replaced within the next few months because Father Time and the New York State weather has taken a beating to it.
The Glove Compartment, Turn Signal/Windshield Wiper Lever, and something else unknown rattles when the car is Idling.
The Dome Light does not work unless you open the Back Door of the vehicle.
One of the Back Doors does not open from the outside or inside of the car.
There was a small Gas Leak that was coming from the Fuel Pump, but it stopped leaking a few weeks ago and why I don't know.
The Fuel Door does not open by its Lever anymore and must be pried open with a Key.
General comments?
I have been very pleased with my Chrysler LeBaron GTS.
It has been extremely reliable and it never leaves me stranded.
I get phenomenal Gas Mileage and I can drive 124 miles on a half tank of gas.
I used to bad mouth Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler cars, but this vehicle has proved me wrong.
This car is pretty quick on the Expressway/Highway.
I would consider buying another one if it was meticulously maintained and had low mileage.
