1994 Opel Omega CD review from Germany
"Great family car but take a close look"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A common Omega B problem, the lower part of the front passenger door was rusted really bad due to a plugged water drain.
Just had stuff replaced that had gotten to old and/ or worn.
This car lost oil from a never identified spot. If there hadn't been this mysterious leak there wouldn't have been any oil loss because the engine did not burn any.
The Check Engine light came on and a readout showed there was a problem with the emissions system.
Other than that this car was working well.
General comments?
Fuel efficiency was very good for a station wagon this size.
On its last trip to the Baltic Sea in May with speeds up to 170 km/h average fuel consumption was 8,7 Liters/ 100 kilometres (with A/C running).
Had all the electric goodies (and they worked).
Even the in-dash display had all the pixels.
Huge cargo area.
Very comfortable seats and suspension.
Great A/C.
Sold it this month and miss it very much.
