1993 Daihatsu Feroza F300 Hard-Top Wide-Track 1.6l EFI petrol

Summary:

Best SWB 4X4 I have ever had. Definitely getting another one if I have to

Faults:

So far as I have owned the car, the common problem like most cars were the wheel bearings replaced, CV boots and joints, head gasket, distributor replaced. And scheduled services.

General Comments:

Great car, I love it. The '93 Feroza has durable parts and a long overall lifespan as long as it has been cared for, I put mine through the torture test often on 4x4 tracks in Australia and it has done trips like Fraser Island and Cape York, FNQ.

Have put a 42" LED lightbar on the roof, 24" LED light bar on the bullbar, a 12,000lb electric winch on a mount welded to the front of the chassis under the bullbar, roof rack, 30" mud tyres, 2" body lift kit, and soon to have a 2" suspension lift also.

1993 Daihatsu Feroza EL 1.6 petrol

Summary:

A really awesome, reliable little four-by

Faults:

When I first got the Feroza, I snapped the clutch cable.

I have broken the passenger outside door handle.

General Comments:

It handles very well and is extremely easy to park at the shopping centre.

Has a low gearing ratio, which is great for 4-wheel-driving.

Can be difficult to install speakers in doors, and not much room for the amplifier and subwoofer, but is still capable with a little imagination.

The engine is tough and has been very reliable.

Great for beach driving!

This car is not good for people with long legs as the seats do not go very far back.

When the back seats are folded up, there is plenty of room for camping equipment or whatever you may need to carry.

All-in-all, a great investment.

Broken passenger side door handle! I have the same problem... can't find one anywhere, did you get it fixed?

1993 Daihatsu Feroza SX II 1.6L EFI

Summary:

Awesome looking and performing little 4x4

Faults:

The gearbox has a slight whine in 3rd and 4th, but not a major problem. Engine pinging, but fixed in 5 minutes with the correct timing adjustment.

General Comments:

This car is great. Lots of people say this car is slow, but I was surprised with its power; I could climb up massive hills in 5th gear doing 110km/h easily. It is obviously no V8 super car, but it's pretty good for a 1.6 pulling along 1750 odd kg.

This car handles exceptionally well (power steering) and the seats are very comfy. Aesthetically this car (widetrack model) with a bullbar and aerial has lots of street appeal, and will turn heads everywhere you go. All in all a great little 4wd that will take you anywhere on a budget.

1993 Daihatsu Feroza sxp 11 1.6 petrol

Faults:

Heater fan only worked when it felt like it.

Rear interior panel's were not up to scratch. since been replaced with polished check plate.

General Comments:

Surprisingly capable off road. especially in wet or muddy terrain, with the right tires.

Engine bit underpowered at low revs.

Engine built to rev however, and plenty of grunt up top.

Overall good performer and great fun.

Not many after market parts available although very popular overseas.

1993 Daihatsu Feroza EFI 1.6 petrol

Summary:

A great, fun small car

Faults:

Water Pump and radiator were replaced before I bought it.

Plastic back door handle broke off, been replaced with a chrome one.

Fuel Pump going funny now, will have to be replaced in the near future.

General Comments:

Back seats not very roomy, wouldn't want to take passengers very far, good for the kids and the shopping, however, only having 2 doors makes it tricky to get things in.

A bit top heavy, but once you get the hang of it it's fine.

Love the removable hardtop roof.

Great for a small car, a bit of a chicks car.

Easy to park, great for around town, but is a great four wheel drive.
