1995 Daihatsu Feroza SX II 1.6L petrol

Summary:

Cheap, reliable and with a few simple modifications, a very capable off roader

Faults:

Just normal wear components such as brakes and clutch.

Did blow the engine up, but it was totally my fault for revving the crap out of it with a cold engine.

General Comments:

Was very capable when I got it, but even more capable now with modifications; extractors, 2 inch exhaust and foam air filter have made on road performance better, with better fuel economy, and off-road with more torque.

Lifted suspension has improved ride comfort and handling, as well as improved off-road performance. Has more then once embarrassed some owners of other 4WD's who think they have something more capable.

1995 Daihatsu Feroza SXII 1.6 EFI

Faults:

Brakes wear very quickly around town.

General Comments:

Good little 4WD with proper low range, great in the sand, a bit cramped for anybody over 5'10".

Pretty good for my first car. Could do with more pick up power and a little more head room, but apart from that it does me great.

Very delightful to drive, and because of the low gear ratio, power isn't too much of a problem. Coming from a sedan, the feroza is definatly a good buy - cheap to run, although a bumpy will occur. For example I am getting 500 km to a tank of gas which costs me around $60 to $65 to fill ($NZ).
