2005 Daihatsu Terios SX 1.3

Summary:

For price of car - excellent value

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Car is great - very zippy to get around city of Sydney streets.

Very fuel efficient.

Put down the back seats and car can be loaded up with heaps of gear - I often go camping.

I am 6ft - drivers seat has to be pushed all the way back - however with seats down in back - not possible.

A/C + heating - excellent - very quick.

Weak on hills - lacks power.

2005 Daihatsu Terios SX 1.3

Summary:

Economical, functional - after-sales service could do with improvement

Faults:

Engine revs will not shut down (about a one sec delay) when accelerator is released causing difficult gear changing in the first three gears or when moving off up hill.

General Comments:

A good economical all purpose car. The vehicle is able to tow, can carry five small people and provides a good high driving position.

The terrios is slightly underpowered in city traffic, not much foot room (compared to the falcon) and has scary cornering ability.

Would like to know if anyone has had problems with the slow response of the accelerator. I think this is an issue, but convincing the dealer that it is, is a problem.

To campare a 4.1 litre falcon to a small town runabout like a daihatsu is not logical.

2005 Daihatsu Terios 4x4 1.3

Summary:

I love Terry my terrios

Faults:

Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with the car.

General Comments:

The car is really great to drive. I live in Brisbane which is a really hilly city, and the car easily nips up hills in 4th gear. The engine purrs quietly even at high speeds. The road noise inside the car is minimum under 100 km. it turns like a dream and is so easy to park with a 9.5 turning circle. Although the dashboard is basic it is purely functional.

2005 Daihatsu Terios

Summary:

Driver's foot/leg spacing is too narrow

General Comments:

I have a question of Terios owners.

What do other owners think about the driver's foot spacing? (I'm in right hand drive.)

I've discovered that the space for my left foot/leg is too tight / narrow. I can't put my leg vertical - it has to lean with my foot tucked in (so to speak).

Is this just for the 2005 series?

I have a 2000 Terios SX and have the same problem. My shoe size is 11 so I do have a lot of trouble trying not to step on both gas and brake pedals at once. I am thinking on making some modification to them to avoid any accident.

I have a 2003 Terios and I am 6'1" and have size 14 shoes. I have found the best place to rest the clutch foot is under the clutch pedal, as far as pedal spacing goes I got used to it after a while and never have problems.

I agree, I am 5'10" and I have a problem with both feet while driving. On long drives the right foot sits awkwardly against the accelerator which causes some discomfort. My left foot needs to be placed behind the clutch as there is no room beside it to rest, this is due to the fact that the car has a centre differential which takes up the space.

I have no problem resting my foot, and the space of the pedal I got used to it after a while and never have problems. I used to have an Alfa Romeo and it had the same pedal space.
