1992 Holden Calais VP 3.8L V6

Summary:

Awesome car with sick stereo, and the neons look brilliant.

Faults:

The hood lining sagged and cost $180* to get fixed.

Power steering fluid started to leak at 175000km fixed for $250*.

That's It!

General Comments:

Awesome commodore bought originally for $4500* spent $4000* on it.

It's got a lot more power than I originally thought it would have. I have a $3500* Pioneer/Fusion stereo system in it which goes sick. It is in immaculate condition and the interior is beautiful. It is metallic blue with a green underbody neon kit.

TIP: Don't let people eat (even just having hot food in the car), drink or smoke in your car, it makes it smell musty and horrible. Get an air freshener, I buy ones in the shape of feet called arctic blue from K-mart for $3.85* and they last for about 2 months.

1992 Holden Calais 3.8 V6

Summary:

A very good car for under $45,000 when new

Faults:

The water pump was replaced at 170,000km.

Tale lamps were leaking water in to the boot. Fix with silicon.

Front door window seals needed glue to hold them in place.

Left hand rear electric window slow to wind up.

The last 40,000kms have been driven very hard and at high speeds.

The speedometer is 4.3km/h faster at 100km/h than trip computer and 7km/h faster than road speed.

General Comments:

This car would have to be one of the best cars I've driven.

Its got a lot of room, big boot and leg room.

It can be fast 0-100km/h 8.7sec, 0-400m 16.5sec, top speed 215km/h.

The fitting of a rear wheel camber kit is good advise for the IRS in all Holden Commodore's, this stop's a lot of tire wear and improves grip at high speed.

I have fitted a floor mounted switch that locks the auto's torque converter on command in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear's. This can reduce fuel consumption at speeds lower than 90kmh.
