1991 Honda Integra ZX 1.6L

Summary:

Would have loved it if it was new

Faults:

- First day I got the car, the alternator went. ($400 fix)

- Small seal broke in the transmission, there was no transmission fluid in the car.

- Faulty electrics. Head lamps would always work fine, but interior electrics would fail randomly. Rear brake light bulbs needed constant replacing.

- Water leaking through the boot rubbers. Took rubbers off and discovered lots of rust. Also leaking into boot. Started to see rust appearing around the spare tire.

General Comments:

This car was a real hassle for me. Granted the car is getting on a bit, but I gave up on this car and bought another.

There were lots of cons as listed above, but there were some good points to the car.

Interior is well appointed for the age of the car.

The car handles very good (even in the wet). Fun to drive when it was working.

Cheap on gas.

Comfortable and felt safe.

No rattles or funny noises.

Engine was perfect, transmission was bullet proof (drove it for a couple of weeks with no transmission fluid in it without realising).

1991 Honda Integra LS 1.8 VTEC

Summary:

A fun good value well engineered little sports car

Faults:

CV joints went about 130K - like everyone else.

Erratic passengers side electric window.

Rear hatch gas struts poor.

The most reliable car I've ever owned.

General Comments:

What a great little car!

Goes like stink if you give it the revs but not much power down low. It was actually really fun to drive. Never ever broke down on me.

Fifth gear not tall enough for really long trips, fun in the city and on country roads.

Runs on the smell of an oily rag, a really cheap car to run.

1991 Honda Integra LS 1.8

Summary:

Emaculate for a 1991, Its still in new car condition

Faults:

Interior Light decides to work on occasion.

The electric ariel is a bit noisy along with the drivers window too.

General Comments:

I was extremly lucky with my Integra. I purchased it will a full service history, the prior owner serviced it yearly without fail from the day she bought it.

It's an Automatic and has great pickup and drives really well.

For a car that's now 12 years old the styling still looks modern.

The layout on the dash is good except the air condition controls are hidden by the steering wheel.

Its fully optioned and well maintained.

The only bad point is its low to the ground and I have hit the bottom of the car when leaving driveways.

My auto LS is great. Plenty of power and beat most other 1.8 litre cars in a race. Good on fuel. Looks decent as well. Most people wouldn't think it is a 15 year old car. The car is quiet low. I often scrap the front on lumps and bumps on the road.

1991 Honda Integra RXi 1.6 petrol

Summary:

A cheap, reliable and fun car to own

Faults:

C.V. joints needed to be replaced (due to way too many handbrake turns). Other than that, no trouble whatsoever.

General Comments:

A really good car for people who are interested in car audio. The sound travels well through the car. Ensure you fasten your front speakers really well or else the doors tend to rattle.

Handles well around the city and is great on country roads upto 120 k/h. Anything above that makes the driver feel like he is losing conrol of the car due to its age.
