1996 Honda Integra DC2 Type R JDM 1.8 DOHC Vtec

Summary:

If you are looking for a cheap, fun, go kart like, race car, then this is it

Faults:

Nothing, as you would expect from a Honda.

General Comments:

This is one of the best cars more money that I have owned, and is one of the better cars that I have ever driven.

The handling for a front wheel drive car is second to none, although you do get the odd torque steer, but that is to be expected.

People have told me that my car is annoying to drive round the city with its hard suspension and close ratio gearing, but I actually prefer it this way. It is quite economical if you don't use the VTEC, but the only time I don't use the VTEC is when I am at the traffic lights, it is soooooo addictive, it just screams at you to give it more. The only complaint I really have is the wheel spin in the wet when the VTEC kicks in, but even so this is fun.

I feel the car could do with an extra gear, as it cruises along at 120km/h at about 4000 rpm!

Compared with other cars on the road, if it can't keep up with their acceleration (which it rarely can't), it will most probably beat it round a corner. My mate has a B4 rsk, and the Honda always smokes it, no contest.

I love this car, and I recommend it to any one who has a passion for well engineered cars.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

BANG ON THE MONEY, once you buy a dc2 integra type R, you will never want another car.

I own a CTR ep3. Awesome car; a bit low on torque and has a rubbish turning circle, neither really bother me. Am thinking of an Integra dc5 next, or would I be better off saving a bit and getting a dc2?
