2004 Hyundai Getz GL 1.5

Summary:

Bloody brilliant mate!!!

Faults:

Nohing at all.

General Comments:

Very good small car!!! It has all the features that you will not find in the other small cars with the same price as the Getz. Great looks, had been reliable since I bought it (brand new). Great engine even though performance a bit disappointed, very easy on fuel. I think Hyundai has done a very great job, I would recommend this car to everyone especially for all the snobs out there who doesn't like Hyundais and pay more money for european/japanese small cars. You can't beat the value and you can't go wrong with this car!!!

2002 Hyundai Getz GL 1.5

Summary:

Hyundai's best model to date

Faults:

Only very trivial things:

1) Aerial worked its way loose and rattled over speed humps (which I am prone to taking too quickly).

2) Seat belt warning light illuminated sometimes when I was wearing my seatbelt (speed humps again). Dealer fixed both problems without any dramas.

3) In very hot weather parked on a slope with premium unleaded petrol in the tank, the car sometimes won't start first time when it's been left unused for a week.

General Comments:

I bought my Getz new after the head gasket blew in my Integra. My Getz doesn't have any electric niceties and I don't miss them at all.

The Getz serves its purpose well. It's a cheap reliable car. And it's actually quite fun to drive. In fact, it drives as well as a VW Golf which costs twice as much.

I drove the Getz through the desert from from Sydney to Perth (4000Km) in 4 days and it didn't miss a beat. It's been known to cruise happily at 150 Km/h.

The cabin is roomy and cheerful with colourful flecks.

A short bonnet makes parking a breeze - even dreaded parallel parking in congested inner city Sydney.

2003 Hyundai Getz GL 5 Door 1.5 petrol

Summary:

Brilliant! And thousands less than the competition!

Faults:

Absolutely nothing!

General Comments:

After 43 years driving, and many new car purchases, this is the first one that didn't have a list of fixes as long as your arm on the first service!

The car feels solidly built and with no interior rattles and very low road noise, is the quietest four cylinder I've owned.

The suspension spring rates are quite soft which gives the ride comfort you would expect in a much larger car. The trade off of course is handling when pushed through corners which is best described as adequate.

This car is the second one in our family. My sister in law has a 1.3 three door manual which has been as trouble free and as impressive as mine.

2004 Hyundai Getz GL 1.5 petrol

Summary:

The Getz is not only a winner, but a pretty car as well

Faults:

Nothing to date.

General Comments:

Bought as a second car mainly for shopping in Melbourne's (four million) very heavy traffic, the Getz has so far, performed flawlessly.

The only thing that puzzles me is that in reverse (as heard from outside), the car sounds like a diesel.

Taken on a country trip, the Getz seemed at home on the freeway & on sealed country roads.

To be quite honest, I am really impressed with this 'Europeanised' Hyundai, & the finish is superior too many cars I have looked at while reviewing this category.

My other car is a Toyota Avalon (Advantage) built & bought by me in 2003, & the Getz complements this largish perfectly.
