Faults:

CD player skips when you hit slight bumps on the road.

Check light constantly coming on and off with no explanation. Has been looked at 3 times, Dealership explanation sensor and wiring problem all replaced, but problem still persists.

Starter motor problem Dealership fixed.

Head gasket blown 90000km still sorting out if warranty coverage is valid.

General Comments:

Hard to turn sharply.

Hard to park in parking bays.

Faults:

Fuel gauge is often erratic, although sender unit was replaced at 1000Km.

A spark plug failed at 8000Km - waited 3 days for a replacement part.

Advised at only 10,000Km that front brake pads required replacing and that rotors needed machining.

Speedometer may be inaccurate - car was clocked at 94Km/hr when speedometer displayed 100Km/hr.

Groaning from power-assisted steering pump on tight turns.

Recently, engine fails to start - swapping the fuel-pump relay with horn or fog-lamp relays seems to help, for a while...

CD player skips when going over bumps, and the clock (in the CD/radio) doesn't keep time.

Very long handbrake lever travel - at least with automatic transmission 'Park' keeps it still.

General Comments:

The car is very comfortable and (in my view) extremely good value for money.

There is plenty of room for 7 people and a fair amount of luggage.

So for now I'm prepared to put up with the small(ish) problems. Either that or waste time putting the car in for minor repairs. Good job it has a 3 year warranty :L)

Faults:

For 2 years the KIA was apparently running fine then problems began to emerge:

- Head gasket blew at around 30,000KM.

- Electrical problems with fuel injection.

- Electrical problems with warning lights.

- Fuel gauge sticks at the half-way point.

- CD-Player skips, and now CDs just won't play.

- Automatic gearbox starting to have problems in engaging 4th gear.

General Comments:

The car's turning circle is terrible. Although it was a good price, and it comes with 3 years manufacturers warranty, having the car off the road every 2nd week is not worth it.

Re-sale price drops considerably.

Faults:

Power steering pump cracked.

Wiring harness replaced.

Clutch replaced.

Engine replaced.

Window seals replaced.

Gearbox overhauled 4 times, still not fixed. Difficulty shifting gears.

Engine check light shows repeatedly.

Paint fallen off.

Stone-chips very easily.

Radio replaced 6 times - still doesn't work.

Sliding doors stick in locked position.

Idling high.

Fuel system intake - power cuts out when turning right.

Rotors replaced at 40000km - can't be machined.

Failed brakes - mechanic can't find problem.

Speakers cut out.

Rattles in rear of car.

Rattles from dashboard area.

Erratic fuel gauge.

Pieces falling off car.

Handbrake doesn't hold vehicle satisfactorily on slopes.

General Comments:

Kia have made no attempt to resolve the problems I am having, and the mechanics are stumped.

The vehicle has so far spent 55 days in the repair shop.

The car is 2years, 4months old.

I know several people with the same vehicle, and while they all have similar problems, my vehicle has had the most problems.
