1991 Mazda B2600

Summary:

Everyone called it the BEAST TRUCK

Faults:

Just 4x4 mode. Dad tried to "fix" it. After that 4x4 mode can't be used anymore and every time we try to have it on 4x4, it makes grinding sound. Had to leave the fan on for it not to overheat.

General Comments:

Lost due to a car accident. First car ever owned. Never let my family down.

Used it 4x4 in the Outback a couple of times (that was before Dad tried to fix the 4x4 because he assumed there was a damage) and it was great!

Used it to pull my Dad's Nissan Patrol once; it wouldn't reach 5th gear so had to leave it in 3rd gear and run on 60km/h in a 100km/h zone, however it didn't break down on us during that time and got us home safe.

It took to me places where a better 4x4 car (better looking and powerful car than mine) wouldn't even dare going.

1992 Mazda B2600 2.7L petrol/gas fuel injected

Summary:

An awesome work ute

Faults:

The only thing that's gone wrong is the radiator got blocked and made the car overheat.

General Comments:

I love it, it's a good work ute, and it's cheap to run.

1995 Mazda B2600 + 2.6L EFI

Summary:

Good, reliable 4x4 dual cab

Faults:

Gearbox blew at 180 000km, replaced clutch at same time.

Radiator worn out at 200 000km.

Leaks some oil out back of engine, very small amount. Although it can be smelt after long trips.

Fuel pump replaced at <100 000km, engine would not start after long drives.

Engine still reluctant to start after long running times, 3-4hours.

General Comments:

Great pickup, comfortable enough to drive everyday, enough power to get you from A to B with a load.

Brakes a bit poor, especially when a load is in the back, or have a trailer.

Would buy a newer Mazda pickup.

Very happy with it. :)

1991 Mazda B2600 i CabPlus 4x4 Ute 2.6 EFI

Summary:

A good, tough, no-nonsense work and fun vehicle

Faults:

The drivers seat has a slight rip in it.

General Comments:

This is my first 4x4, and I am very impressed with its on-road ability and especially impressed with how it handles off-road.

I have been out with Chevy Landcruisers, Pajeros, and Patrols in the mud and through rivers, up and down some rough terrain and the only draw back possibly was its long wheelbase now and then.

Considering I run BF Goodrich 265/70/15 T/A's on it, I think all were most surprised how well it did.

Good gearing and 4x4 system.
