1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT 3.0 twin turbo petrol
Summary:
A money pit
Faults:
Drivers side power window died at 175,000km.
Passenger side followed shortly thereafter.
Clutch had to be replaced at 177,000km.
ECU had to be repaired at 180,000km.
General Comments:
Engine never sounds quite right, but I've heard other GTO's and they sound the same.
Decent acceleration and average handling.
Very very small interior, especially considering how big the car is.
Uses LOTS of petrol.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Sounds to me like you just bought one that'd had the crap thrashed out of it.
I'd say you just got screwed by the previous owner, and were rather unlucky.
