2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0

Summary:

Spend $20000 on the car, and never have to worry about anything else

Faults:

Flat battery.

Never any problems since purchase.

General Comments:

Self serviced; was my parent's first Mitsubishi, and they are very happy with it.

Sensible car; simple design, but solid and easy mechanics.

Certainly not for someone used to driving powerful cars, but gets the job done.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES MY06 CH 2.0

Summary:

An excellent car for the price that you can always rely on to get you to where you need to go

Faults:

One brake light globe had to be replaced at 151,000 km.

General Comments:

This car is very reliable and has never broken down, always getting you from A to B.

It performs well for a 4 cylinder car, and is a good car for the price.

The only negative is that the seats aren't very comfortable.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 8 (IX) 2.0 turbo

Summary:

Fantastic

Faults:

No problems at all.

General Comments:

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC SUPERCAR... YES SUPERCAR EATER!

Watch top gear on youtube evo vs lamborghini :)

Brilliant in every respect of performance and comfort.

Corners like there is no tomorrow! Amazing. You can plant your foot down with over 300HP at the tyres on full boost and full revs, and take a sharp corner, and most of the time it doesn't budge, doesn't lose traction. If it does, it corrects itself.

Wound up the boost a little and had the computer flashed ($1000) and now has over 310HP at the tyres :)

NOT one reliability issue and I drive it HARD.

Also have a few friends with them - NO issues.

With these small mods:

0-60mph in less than 4 seconds.

Best 1/4 mile is 12.2 @ 113MPH.

Only things it lacks is: (I have to be honest)

Fuel economy when you put the foot down is more like a modified V8 (but then again, it beats most V8's so that's understandable - can't make HP without fuel!)

But if driving normal, you get 4 cylinder economy.

Due to being all wheel drive, performance tyres don't last very long (around 10,000 kms).

Not the absolute softest ride, but very very good still with fantastic recaro suede/leather seats.

If you really want to have fun and you know how to drive, then a rear wheel drive only is much more fun then this car! This thing has too much grip, even in the wet!

Terrible turning circle (due to 4x4)!!!

Lacks low down torque, but if you're in the correct gear, no problems.

Overall, if you look at it as a whole package and price, it's a crazy car.

To be honest, the only thing I personally don't like about it is too much traction! :)

Evo 8 and 9 are awesome cars. I've had 5 so far and loved every single one. My last one had almost 600hp and it was an AWD rocket.
