1982 Nissan Bluebird TRX 2.0L (L20B)

Summary:

Great Little Old BEHEMOTH

Faults:

Headgasket blew - Got a mate to fix it. Big mistake.

Ignition Coil wire shorted.

General Comments:

Great First Car.

Make sure you know the history and don't get a Series III I have heard.

Seats don't go back enough for tall people.

1982 Nissan Bluebird GX L20B-A 2.0L S4.

Summary:

A reliable, inexpensive car

Faults:

Water pump broke down at 300000km (but what can you expect?).

General Comments:

I've had this car for several years now, and have seen others fall apart around it.

The engine isn't awfully powerful, but it keeps going and going and going.

1982 Nissan Bluebird TR-X 2.0

Faults:

Radiator leakage.

Roof aerial continually falls down when on a highway.

General Comments:

The car looks nice and sporty with spoilers, metallic silver duco and blacked out chrome with alloy wheels.

It's fun to drive.

I have the same car but with a turbo on it running 14psi and producing 105kw at the wheels.

TRX's are much more fun with a turbo.

You should have a look at http://autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=0427. This guy has a series 1 TRX. Apparently it does 1/4 mile in around 11 seconds, and has around 340hp at the wheels.

I have a Series 3 TRX, with SR20 turbo from an S13 Silvia.

It's doing 12.1 down the 1/4 mile, and at the moment it's getting lowered springs. If anyone has a chance of putting a turbo in a TRX, go for it!!!

I own a series 1 GL with 50000 on the clock.I've fitted a side draft Webber headers and a Waggot cam this car rev's its nut off. Its also being air born and in a puddle deep enough to fill all ash trays in the doors. only problem the spedo don't work in summer only winter. Never misses a beat.
