1989 Nissan Bluebird ZX 2.0 petrol

Summary:

Great car, will last for another 20 years

Faults:

Only things that have gone wrong is a leaking shock absorber, flat battery and a Holden Commodore crashing into me.

General Comments:

It has over 270,000 kms on the clock and doesn't smoke or leak. Good condition on the inside for a 20 year old car.

This seems to be a very unfair review. It would appear to highlight your ineptness at assessing existing problems when purchasing a car rather than point towards any unreliability issues with this model. Everybody else who owns one of these seems happy, we've just brought one for the kids to learn in based on the other more realistic reviews listed in this sight. Perhaps an AA check might serve you well in future.

1989 Nissan Bluebird Super Select 1.8

Summary:

Pretty decent

Faults:

Hose pipes keep leaking and splitting, this is a constant problem. Easy to fix.

Engine mount split.

General Comments:

The car is pretty decent in terms of acceleration, handling is OK, but can slide out fairly easily. I've thrashed the hell out of this car and it's stood the test quite well, Nissan motors are pretty tough. The car used to run on the smell of an oily rag, but I put a 'Coby Resonator - Straight through exhaust system' and it goes thru petrol really fast now, this did give it the power of a 2.0 liter engine which was well worth it.
