Just awsome, great for New Zealand conditions
Clutch went at 125000kms, and front shocks.
Owned the Surf 7 years, great 4x4 to drive, it just keeps on going, so I look after it.
Also great to sleep in the back, room for 2.
When I upgrade, it's a 3.0 ltr model just for a change, New Zealand.

Fun with versatility
Front wheel hubs.
Shocks.
Brake discs.
Electrical problems.
Electric window switch.
This little 4wd goes anywhere the other 4wds will, and when tuned properly isn't too bad on fuel.
I am 5ft 5", and I have slept in the back of mine with the seats put forward. Mine also has rust starting in the roof/gutters, but I suppose it is to be expected with a vehicle of this age.
Only drawback is lack of recovery point areas.
I love this little 4wd. Small, compact, reliable yet robust & capable.

Great Fun!
Sunroof switch failed.
Rear electric window switch not working.
Vehicle is absolutely awesome off-road.
Very low gear ratio's I 4wd Low, great for extremely steep decents.
Maximum torque.
