1997 Toyota Hi-lux 2.4 petrol

Summary:

The best 4x4 anyone could ever own. Tough as nails. Not kidding you

Faults:

The fuel pump needed replacing. That's all.

General Comments:

These vehicles are by far the best 4X4 I have ever driven. I am a keen 4X4ER and have taken out plenty of 4x4s ranging from Nissan Patrol, Holden Rodeo, Land Rover, Land Cruiser, a Mitsubishi, and a suzuki.

Of all the vehicles, my Hi-lux has never failed on a uphill track. The rest have and I rolled the Suzuki. The Hi-lux just pulls and has excellent clearance for this one particular track I know. It has deep ruts.

Don't GO PAST A TOYOTA HILUX.

General Comments:

Have taken the car to the dealer 6 times and have lodged two complaints with Toyota Australia and Consumer Affairs.

For low oil pressure change the filter as somewhere the oil passage is blocked or almost blocked. Make the oil thinner, run the car motor for 10 minutes, change the oil (with new good engine oil) and the oil filter.

There is no way the Hi-lux would have that trouble without something being done wrong.

I have a SR5 1998, 3 litre using diesel and Hydrogen and I am getting over 800 km a tank and I am happy.

I change the oil every 5000 km, maybe you might need to do the same in the oil changing.
