2010 Toyota Mark X 350 Premium

Summary:

After many cars this is the best

Faults:

Nothing as yet, however no handbook in English (I had one printed).

Imported a new head unit which still cannot be fitted.

General Comments:

I am extremely satisfied with my car.

Even the petrol economy!!!!

With the 350 motor I expected approximately 23 to 26 miles per gallon; imagine my surprise when I measured it (at every fill) as I found it to be approx 28 to 35 MPG (measured).

For an engine this size, this is excellent as I do not hold back and at certain times have reached speeds of 170 (very carefully).

2007 Toyota Mark X 250G 2.5 V6

Summary:

Great car if you want Toyota reliablity and Lexus power

Faults:

Nothing so far :) The car has a bit of idle flutter on first start, but once you leave it to warm up, it's fine.

General Comments:

Really nice car to drive and has good power when you need it. Brakes are okay; I feel like there could be some fine tuning to make them a bit more responsive.

2005 Toyota Mark X 250G S pack

Summary:

An understated way of enjoying Lexus type quality

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong, it has been faultless.

General Comments:

This car is perfect for those who covet Lexus quality combined with reliability, but perhaps cannot quite afford it. In NZ the Mark X is is sold as a used import, and therefore is reasonably cheap, eg: mine cost NZD$20,000. A similar aged/condition Lexus such as the IS250 would cost approx NZD$35,000.

This car has one of the best interiors of any car I have owned. A lot of very nice features such as reverse camera and auto parking, as well as nice LED mood lighting system.

Overall, I think it is an under rated model from Toyota. I have only had the vehicle a short while, but am already thinking about upgrading to a newer model (a new shape came out in 2009).

I have seen one or two of these around on the roads, a very distinctive looking car. I think sometimes maybe Toyota keep their 'best' for their domestic market.

How do you find the fuel economy with this?

19th Sep 2013, 17:34

Toyota Mark X 250G averages from 7.1km/L-9.6km/L, depending on driving behaviour.

Could I get the fuel consumption in MPG?

2nd Jul 2016, 01:42

This computes to 19 MPG (around town or if pushing it hard) and up to 27 MPG if cruising on the open road. Just divide the figure by 8, then multiply by 5, then again by 4.5, to get the MPG amount.

I have a 2015 Mark X on a trip plus a round town driving - 715km on a full tank.

Hi, I just bought a 2005 300G Mark X and so far it's been great, we drove it from Christchurch to Blenheim and we got to 14.7 km per litre; that works out to a shade over 41 MPG! We did 675 km on 3/4 of a tank which holds 70 litres. It's more economical than my wife's 2 litre Suzuki SX4 back in Oz.

Sorry, this is not correct as 7.1L per 100km equates to about 34.4 miles per gallon - unless you are in America where the gallon isn't.

As a general guide I understand 10L per 100km is about 30 MPG.

Hi. I'm looking into getting a 2014 Mark X, just want to ask if there has been any issue about under the chassis? Is it expensive getting a repair for this car?

I have seen if you do get any work done on the dashboard, it starts having cracks on the dashboard material. Also the handles of the doors are coming apart. I've seen this on 2-3 cars, but otherwise I think it has a bulletproof engine and stuff. Really nice to drive; feels luxurious. No problems with mine using it for 3 years. Would rate it 4.5 out of 5.
