1993 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI 1.6L

Summary:

It's fast, reliable, economical ride and modest

Faults:

So far, nothing has gone wrong.

Except for starting problems, because of moisture in the Delco.

General Comments:

The car looks very modest, but is quite fast.

A lot of options on my 'ES' version : electric powered windows, electric sunroof, power steering,...

I owned a Lancer (model 1990) from 1993 till 1999, then I bought an Audi, and from 2002 till 2005 I had a Renault 25.

The only real disadvantage about both Mitsubishi's is that the interior quality is beneath European standards.

Could you/anyone comment further on moisture problems in mid-90's mitsubishis. What is meant by "moisture in the delco" - is that the distributor cap or some other part of the ignition (electronic component)? Thanks.

Yes I'm also having starting problems with a mid 90's lancer-it chugs away until it warms up which is quite embarrassing and risky when others expect it to take off quickly.

People have said that it is an 'choke' problem, but I'm interested in hearing what moisture in the Delco means.

1993 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI 1.6I 16v

Summary:

Practical, modest, and quite powerful

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong so far.

Only bought it October 1st 2005 (from my grandfather).

General Comments:

From 1993 till 1999 I already had a Lancer GLX and was very satisfied. Bought it at 33000 km, sold it at 183000 km. This car is even better. It's more quiet, smoother and handles very well. Of course this one has low mileage. When the engine's cold I do not exceed 2500 rpm. And yes this car is made for high rpm : 5000 rpm is max torque. The nice thing about this Lancer is that the model seems very modest, but its engine is quite the opposite.
