1994 Subaru Legacy GL 2.0 petrol

Summary:

A loyal and reliable family car

Faults:

A couple of condensers had to be changed, the car didn't start sometimes.

Engine service belt pulley had to be replaced.

Washer engine had to be replaced.

Not really expensive things if you consider 213000 km of hard work, long trips, including dirt roads long trips.

General Comments:

This has been a great machine, we are a big family, this is mum's car. We have done very long trips (5000kms), dirt roads, loaded even with roof rack, snow roads, mountain.

The car requires basic maintenance, like injector cleaning liquid every 10000kms, new oil every 5000kms.

The car goes and goes, it doesn't burn oil, the fuel consumption is not the best, but runs very well, it still go fast & smooth.

Devaluation is very low.

1994 Subaru Legacy Turbo 4X4 2.2 turbo

Summary:

High performance

Faults:

The battery died, and my alternator has died; I need to change it.

I have changed most of engine parts (not because they were not working, but they were old and never changed before).

Nothing else has gone wrong with the car.

General Comments:

The car is very fast, and has a 2.2 turbo engine. If you ask a USA garage guy, he will tell you it has 160, but really it has 216 horse power (if with turbo).

It doesn't look as fast as it is. I went 175 km/h in it with no problems. I want to put performance tires on to go 200.

The CD player is good, the speaker are powerful. If you put it on full bass, you can see the rear mirror shake.

Check your engine number to check the power of it. I have a EJ22T. Someone told me it's an Impreza WRX engine. It's a great car.

I don't know where you are getting 216 horsepower from a stock EJ22T. I also have a Legacy Turbo and I can get it 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds. If it really 216hp you would probably be in the high low 6's or high 5's.
