2002 Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.6 16v

Summary:

Coffin on wheels

Faults:

Door handle (inside) got loose month after purchase (still waiting replacing under warranty)

Tire blew on motorway because of faulty suspension (after 1 year - dealer did not accept it under warranty)

Wipers faulty from purchasing (Dealer said it is because connections are shaking and are in wet, and we are talking about wipers remember). They were repairing them for two years, and after the warranty expired they said I should buy new wiper engine.

Airbags malfunction.

Bulb malfunction every 3 months.

My clutch literally exploded on motorway (three weeks before I was at dealers and told him that I think something is wrong with it, and they said that everything is OK). They even wanted to charge me repair, but after I said I will sue them, they decided not to.

Air conditioning was repaired three times.

Lots of loose plastic bits.

Car is full of rattling noises.

General Comments:

Most unreliable car I have ever driven.

Too expensive for what it offers.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

My Stilo was purchased with 11000 miles on the clock.11 months old. It has suffered with the engine cut out problem suffered by other Stilo owners. It has had this loss of power to engine, brakes and steering on 11 separate occasions- 3 times while in the fast lane of a motorway. The car has been back to the FIAT agents 5 times in the last year with the same complaint. Each time they tell me that it has been rectified. It has spent a total of 24 days in their workshops. Letters to the agent are replied to along the lines that what I have experienced is perfectly normal. I am totally exasperated with this car which is the most unreliable I have ever owned.
