2002 Daewoo Nubira CDX 1.6i

Summary:

Good for a cheap Korean 1.6L car

Faults:

Injectors went really bad, and it was a big time problem to find good replacements, as all the injectors available are not good quality.

Fuel pump goes faulty very very frequently; like every 20,000 KM or even less.

General Comments:

The car is okay in terms of performance, it is fast for a 1.6i engine, and that comes from the DOHC 16-valve engine.

It handle good, not excellent, but it is good.

The A/C is pretty strong, the seats are comfy...

The only serious problem with the car is the brake; whatever I do, I still have very poor performance when it comes to braking. Changed the brake pads in the front and the back wheels, changed the oil, changed the calipers, and it is still very poor.

1999 Daewoo Nubira SX 1.6

Summary:

It's alright

Faults:

Timing belt snapped twice.

Water pipe burst 3 times.

AC compressor replaced at 130 000.

Non stop water leakage from everywhere (pipes, motor)

General Comments:

The car drives fine, but mine is a lemon! I bought it used and can only imagine what the previous owner has done to it.

Two of my friends have the exact same car and they are very happy. The only problem they've had has been with suspension. So this is a good car if you treat it well.

I owned a Terios (1999) before this one and it was extremely uncomfortable and weak, but reliable as hell! I would literally abuse the car in every possible way and it would keep running. How do the Japanese do it?

So if you buy a Nubira, make sure it's been treated well.

2001 Daewoo Nubira SX 1.6

Summary:

Very good car

Faults:

Power steering felt heavy over time, inspected by the dealer who recommended replacement, they were mistaken diagnosis as I was able to fix it with anti rust spray, went fine till now.

General Comments:

The car handles great on long distance and speed, I am able to travel smoothly in a speed range (100- 150 km/h) generally feeling safe, acceleration is adequate considering its weight, but engine noise is high to annoy your music listening sometimes.

I recently bought a Nubira car. It is very noisy and affects my listening to the radio also.
