1999 Alfa Romeo GTV Lusso 3.0 V6 24v

Summary:

Turns heads everywhere you go and you can't complain at the performance and price either

Faults:

The steering has started to become a little unstable over undulating roads. New shocks, top mounts and lower wishbones didn't seem to cure the problem.

Driver's and passenger's window never seem to fit properly.

Driver's airbag light came on at 30000 km, which was fixed by the dealer.

General Comments:

Seriously quick and sexy car.

Wish I could cure the constant wind noise from the window seals, which sometimes work, sometimes don't.

Sometimes isn't keen on slipping into second gear, but I put this down to the usual Alfa Romeo quirks.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Great review. I too found that it could be awkward getting it into secound gear. It turns out I needed a new clutch bearing. Along with about £2000 of other bits. But that's the price you pay for love.

I had the same window problem. an easy way to overcome it is to put the window down a bit and back up, so it seals properly. I've had the problem fixed about 3 times, but it still does it so don't bother spending money to get it fixed as it's a common Alfa fault!

I have just bought an alfa gtv 1999 and have the same window problem and all I do is put the window up then down also, and it sorts the problem. also I love driving the beast around town, love it.
