2018 Suzuki Celerio Basic Model 0.9 petrol

Summary:

Non centering steering is the biggest let down

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong so far, no fluid loss either.

General Comments:

Great car but not what I expected.

I have owned small budget cars before, but none have been so weak.

Don't try to overtake anyone; this car has no power. I would not recommend it for a highway car; I live on a small island and it's still not powerful enough; it even stalls in reverse if the air con is on.

It's built in Thailand and has a very simple engine to work on... 1998 technology, so I guess it's easy for anyone to work on, no fancy wires or electronics in the engine bay.

So let's look at the positives and negatives:

Positives:

Excellent on fuel consumption; over about 2000 kilometres I only went to the fuel station 3 times.

Great entertainment system and Bluetooth.

Not much road noise compared to other budget cars; engine so quiet you forget it's actually on and driving; only above 3500 RPM can you hear it.

Reverse sensors, easy to park small car.

OSD shows what gear you should put it in according to the gradient on the road and speed etc.

Negatives:

The power steering does not center; first time I have not seen that in a car and I have had 39 cars before this one.

It's weak, don't overtake.

No mud flaps.

Rear brakes are drum in 2018??

Used as rental cars, everybody thinks you are tourist.

Small boot space, 5 shopping bags, but the seats can be dropped.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Good post. The Celerio in some other markets has the 1.0 litre engine. What are your exact consumption figures?
