1986 Porsche 944 2.7 liter 4 cylinder
Fun when you actually get to drive it!!!
The car seems to always have something wrong with it. The car is very poorly put together, that is why it costs an arm and a leg for dealers to fix it.
After my I bought my radar detector, the fuse blew. I replaced the clutch, and my current problem is the fan won't turn off and it keeps killing the battery!!! WOW, this car is amazing.
When the car is not broken and I get some time to drive in the car, it's awesome. It is also very comfortable.
Speed wise the car can beat most 4 cylinder cars out there. Very quick!!! If you want a cheap Porsche to impress your friends, this is the one to buy. After all, the car tops out at 155 mph and with a manual transmission, the tires spin forever.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

It is true, The Porsche 944 needs TLC almost all the time. But it is a fun and fast little Porsche to own. You can driver her hard and put her away wet, but you also have to take care of her all the time and DO NOT CUT CORNERS with Maintenance!
I have a 1986 Porsche 944 with 100,000 miles on it. Runs great, comfortable and handling is a bonus. The profile of the car is impressive. I have had some timing issues some days, which makes the car hard to start... but, then fine.
Quick shifting and cornering make the driver feel great. The respect you get from other car enthusiasts is obvious. It was the "Best Handling Car in the World" in its time... and it is still great. Find one, buy it and care for it... they are a great bargain.
I took mine to the Cruising the Coast event in Biloxi last year. What a great time! Everyone enjoys sports cars... and Porsches compete at the very top level. In a shoot-out between a 944, Ferrari and another make, the Porsche won! They say it is just a fluid, natural car with great ergonomics and Porsche design and engineering.
Investing in a dream car is a worthy goal. Go do something to make your heart and mojo better. Get a 944!
