1992 Toyota Corolla GLi 1.6 four cylinder

Summary:

Dull but practical, ugly but tough

Faults:

Exhaust pipe fell off and was never seen again.

Replaced rear drum brakes.

Parking brake cable snapped.

Some gaskets and bearings needed replacing.

And finally the hood latch had to be replaced (with rope).

General Comments:

It's relatively quick and handles easily.

Spare parts are easy to come by, since apparently half the people in my town bought a red Toyota in the early 90's.

1987 Toyota Corolla Hatchback 1.3 petrol

Summary:

An incredibly reliable car

Faults:

This car never failed to start and run in the twenty years my family had it.

As maintenance the exhaust system, battery, brakes, water tank, suspension and other things were replaced. This was all easy to do at home, the car has never been to a garage. Since corollas are a popular cars, cheap spare parts are easy to find.

General Comments:

Being a 1988 model, and lacking power steering, power brakes etc it's handling can't be compared with modern car.

1986 Toyota Corolla GTi 1.6 16v petrol

Summary:

The greatest car ever made

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this car. The only problem that I have had was a tiny bit of rust that I fixed easily.

General Comments:

This is the best car I have ever had. It is extremely powerful and there are not many cars that can keep up with me (even those that have a bigger engine and lots more horsepower). The only cars that can keep up are the CRX VTec and the Sunny 2000GTi. Even though my car has only 130 hp, they are real horsepowers unlike all those new cars that I say have ponypowers, not horsepowers.
