2006 Hyundai Santro XO 1.4 petrol

Summary:

A complete family car for a reasonable price..

Faults:

Not much complaints yet

General Comments:

Superb front suspension. but very poor rear suspension.

Less turning radius.. almost similar to M800.

Fuel efficiency pretty good in highways.

Head space & Leg space for rear passenger is poor.

Will look great if you fit an extra rear spoiler..

Accelerator position not good for some passengers..

Dashboard space is not effectively used.

It may take some time for rear passengers to reach AC.

Very hardly lock brakes. so beware of sudden braking...

Also tail lamp lights are so bright so may those who behind this car may become temporary blind...

Rest all perfect.

2006 Hyundai Santro XO

Summary:

Worth every buck

Faults:

Had a flat tyre, got it fixed. No other problems so far. 1st service over.

General Comments:

City driving: Excellent handling. Not so good throttle response. Gear shift is excellent. Fuel economy 16km/L without ac.

Long distance: Body roll... tall design..requires getting used to. Accelerator not comfortable for tall driver. Foot aches. Engine reeves too much between gear change. Hill climbing surprisingly good in 3rd gear. Fuel economy 18km/L without ac on flat road.

General: Spacious for 5. Boot space alright. AC not bad. Back suspension pretty jerky.

Wiper speed is excellent for heavy rain. Defogger is very useful. Light levelling device is handy in night driving to avoid pot-holes. Wish it could be adjusted upwards to hit the face of oncoming truck driver who never dips!!

Hey Santro XO is my first car! Umm second... first was an M800. But this is a superb car yaa... only thing I am unhappy about the car is NOTHING!. The sunshine car!! The sun shines too much, the manufacturers should also provide sun filming with the car right at the manufacturing unit.

2005 Hyundai Santro XO 1.1 petrol

Summary:

Faultless in the city, barely acceptable on the highway

Faults:

Just had a blown fuse so far.

Car is otherwise fine, but the dealer has to get his act together.

General Comments:

Underpowered on highways, but more than adequate in the city. Hydraulic power steering gives good feel, but electric would have been better as this car rarely ventures out of the city. Bouncy ride in the rear - hard suspensions are a big no-no in India. Brakes tend to lock up quickly, so if you buy one make sure it has ABS. There is a fair amount of body roll because of it's tall boy structure, but don't worry it won't topple over.

Cheaper to buy and run than (Maruti) Suzuki Swift and better to drive and has better equipment level than Wagon R. These two are the only serious hatchback competitors to the Santro in India. Others are either a shoe box with wheels (like TATA Indica) or over priced (Palio, Getz, etc).

Rs 4,00,000 for a car with power steering, power windows (f&r), air conditioning, rear defogger and more. Worth every rupee I paid for it.

2000 Hyundai Santro LX petrol 999 cc

Summary:

Santro is a complete car

Faults:

I had only one major problem, AC stopped working very third day I bought the car. I took it to dealer they fixed it for me, since then last 4 years I had no issues with the Car.

General Comments:

Engine is so dam smooth some times I have doubts at the traffic light if the engine is running.

It has excellent pickup & Gear ratio. I don't have to make frequent gear changes as it has lot of bandwidth in each gear.

Interior plastic material used is of good quality, it does not give cheap feel.

I have driven it 500Km at a stretch nonstop, and would stop only for refuels. Car never showed any signs of over heating.

I have never driven a car like this in this segment. It's a true value for Money. All I had spent on this car is for Scheduled maintenance. I had never any problems except for the 3rd day when I bought it new.

Santro is a complete car for what you are paying.
