1993 Fiat Uno S70 1.4

Summary:

It takes you where you want to go, and at low cost!

Faults:

It consumes a little more oil than average.

General Comments:

The car functions realtively well, doing only 40 kilometers a day, but even on long trips it does no problems.

The car was very well maintained by it's previous owners, so I must say it's in pretty good interior shape.

1992 Fiat Uno S 1.1

Summary:

I love the car! Even after it has died... :-(

Faults:

The rear brakes wore out completely after 90,000km (!!!).

The front wiper motor went after 95,000.

The lights mechanism went after 92,000 (the stick that turns the lights on and off).

No major breakdowns.

General Comments:

A very nice car. Especially for the city, although it made 140 km/h with 5 persons and load pretty well.

A very safe one also. After crashing in 70 km/h into a Mitsubishi Magnum (L200), it died, but I stayed alive and unharmed.

Nice handling. You don't need a power steering.

1993 Fiat Uno 60 S 1.1 petrol

Summary:

Great cheapie

Faults:

Passenger seat got caught at the back of the runner when cleaning the car. Very awkward to release.

When it came to sell the car, the top part of the cam belt cover was missing. Belt had been changed 4000 km previously. Garage insisted they couldn't have forgotten to replace it after the change.

General Comments:

Moves along decently if revs are used.

Felt amazingly solid despite its age (though I have driven other Unos from similar vintages which rattled and hummed terribly). It must have been well kept previously.

Average fuel consumption: 15 km/litre.
