1994 Honda Accord SiR 2.2 DOHC VTEC

Summary:

Superb! Fun! Reliable!

Faults:

Some leakage at valve seal and power steering. ABS warning light.

General Comments:

Very very fun car to drive and easy to maintain. Performance parts are easy to get and not too overpriced. DOHC VTEC is superb. Better than a lot of modern sports cars! Handling is good and comfort is there too! No doubt it's quite an old car by now, but I never regret getting it :)

1997 Honda Accord EXi 2.0 16-valve EFI SOHC

Summary:

Boring, but stress-free

Faults:

Usual wear and tear items - nothing unusual here. Unresolved brake disc warpage problems since new.

General Comments:

Engine is smooth, but with very average power and fuel economy.

It is a reliable car with decent build quality. Quality of interior trim material is not bad either.

Acceptable handling. Good ride quality. Refined cruiser. Overly light steering.

Spacious.

A bit boring.

2004 Honda Accord EX 2.0 petrol

Summary:

Good value for a top notch Honda

Faults:

My head gasket blew at 5,000.

Dealer was puzzled. Apparently mine was the first case. Being assembled locally, I had to wait for the Japanese engineers from the assembly plant from 200 km away to come and study the problem before they got it fixed.

It took them full week. Warranty covers everything, but my TIME wasted!

General Comments:

This is my 3rd Honda Accord since owning the first one in 1987. Honda has outdone themselves this time. This car is worthy of carrying the Honda badge! It's everything you'd expect from a Honda.

Excellent ride and handling. Frugal consumption (as good as my wife's diesel powered KIA Sorento). Very decent quality.

My only gripe is the interior color is light beige. The plastics, rugs and seats. It is very, very hard to keep clean.

I opted for the 2.0 rather than the 2.4 which costs 2,800.00 pounds more. The 2.0 churns out 150 HP and the 2.4 160 HP. The only other advantage the 2.4 has over the 2.0 here are electric leather seats, cruise control, climate control air con (as opposed to manual), a 6 discs CD Changer (as opposed to single disc) plus those buttons on the steering wheel.

Stuff either I don't really need or can get fixed later at a relatively low cost.
