1980 Porsche 928 4.5

Summary:

One of the best performance bargains of the new century

Faults:

Torque tube had to be replaced when the bearings started to make a noise.

Air-conditioning compressor clutch failed. Had it replaced with a NipponDenso unit adapted to the original brackets.

General Comments:

This car still looks good after over 20 years. Styling is really unique and one of a kind.

Car's performance is acceptable by today's standard, but can still hold its own against most sedans and lesser sports cars on the road.

The sweet soundtrack of the V8 engine is something I always look forward to listening every time I hop into this car and drive it. In a sea of four and the occasional six cylinder cars, the V8 is truly unique in architecture and sound.

A couple of glitches, but overall a reliable car. The fact that its 26 years old and has very few problems says a lot about its build quality.

I take this car over the 911 anytime. The 911 may do a better job of being a sports car, but the 928 is really the only one you could live with everyday.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
